ABOUT ME:
Hi, I’m Steph, a late-diagnosed neurodivergent; I am autistic with ADHD, and dyslexia. Receiving my diagnosis at 40 years old gave me a new perspective on my life experience up to that point, as well as valuable insights into the systemic challenges neurodivergent individuals face. Initially, I began ADHD and Executive Function coach training to better understand myself. The more I learned, the more I was motivated to use my newfound knowledge and skills to help other neurodivergent people thrive.
Looking back over my career in human resources, I understand that I haven’t always been able to help people the way I’d like. Workplace systems are usually designed around the needs and abilities of neurotypical workers. We neurodivergents are often given advice like “Have you tried using a planner?” or “You just need to try harder.” In effect, we’re told to act neurotypical, advice that’s worse than unhelpful; it’s actually harmful.
I’m still a work in progress, but learning how my brain is wired has enabled me to embrace my strengths and begin to live a more authentic life.
In my spare time I can usually be found on a hike with my very big puppy, Frannie (pictured below), puttering in my greenhouse in the Spring and Summer or hanging out with my fur family at home (Frannie, Izzy and Eloise-pictured below).
How I Can Help:
As an ADHD and Executive Function coach, I help neurodivergent people see their unique strengths and value they bring to the world. I work to create a neuro-affirming, non-judgemental space and provide practical guidance.
Many of our neurodivergent qualities may have been treated by our neurotypical society as issues you need to correct. My process helps you learn to work with your unique brain rather than fight against it.
You can harness the strengths of your differently-wired brain and use them to your advantage. I’ll help you:
· Manage daily routines
· Organize your work and personal commitments
· Navigate relationships
· Practice self-compassion and self-care
· Achieve personal growth goals
Together, we can navigate the beautiful complexity
of neurodivergence with compassion, resilience,
and a touch of humour.
